Kashiwagi will provide education for procurement personnel on another alternate
procurement methods/concepts using performance information. How this process is
used to minimize standards and increase construction performance (on-time, no
change orders, and meet quality expectations) within your current budget.
This session will also cover the following topics:
Dinner Topic: "Leadership Management" $20.00A leadership structure is more efficient than the current management based structure. Leadership will lead to increase performance. This meaning that a process can be created which uses the leadership characteristics of empowerment, trust, self assessment by the timely use of performance information, and the measurement of a contractor/supplier's ability, to identify, prioritize, and minimize risk. A leadership structure would result in a win-win relationship between the client (best value) and the contractor (maximized profit). The use of management has a direct correlation to the inefficiency of the delivery process, and results in the inefficient or non-value added functions of control, management of inefficient participants, and inspection of low priced, minimum quality construction. The research being conducted by Dr. Kashiwagi uses deductive logic, previously published Information Measurement Theory (IMT) models, successful business practices, and results of management and leadership principles by Maxwell, to validate this hypothesis. Presented by: Dr. Dean Kashiwagi, Ph.D, P.E.
